Human Rights and Law

Faculty placement for university students

In this program, we collaborate with not-for-profit, non-government, community development organisations to empower communities so they can create positive impact involving complex social justice issues.

While laws do exist in the Cambodian legal system, the lack of enforcement, as well as the awareness and education of the community on knowing their rights, are major barriers to a well-informed social justice system.

Community impact

Working alongside local teams is the best way to understand more about the Cambodian legal system. It gives the opportunity for visiting students to do comparative studies and research based on Cambodia’s legal system, giving the local team time to focus on their daily tasks and other obligations to communities. Producing discussion papers, as well as researching and collecting resources, are always a huge benefit for the organisation who rarely has the time to accomplish this kind of work.
